Hi

I dont mean to offend anybody etc but I thought that this might be the right place to ifnd out information.

My old art teacher and community member is suffering terribly from MS and has been placed in a nursing home. He does not have any movement in his hands or arms and often sits for long periods of time without anything to do although mentally he is very sound. The nursing:patient ratio does not allow for the kind of help he needs to keep himself mentally stimulated. I thought someone here might know where I can look into finding adaptive equipment i.e. DVD players can be controlled in ways other than hands so that he is can have some autonomy? I remember seeing a brochure from a company that my grandfather had for hard of sight/hearing that had many different gadgets/tools etc. to help adapt to their disability. Is there anything similar for people who are not able to use their hands?

With gratitude.

Ahuva
