Hi,
If before you started taking the ditropan you were having issues with incontinence- well it could very well be the case.
However also could be something else.
I know that occasionally I will have the 'flow' stop when I am cathing and I feel a spasm sort of pull against it. When that happens I try and allow my sphincter ( what is locking onto the catheter) to relax and then I withdraw slowly a bit and the flow will start again. I also wait a lil whilst withdrawing as it helps with the angle of the 'eyes' on them.
However this is not large volumes...
Another thing I am thinking is that some sediment or something is blocking the 'eye' or holes of the catheter and making it seem like you are empty..
Also, do you take "diuretics" ( water tablets) or meds which list that as a side effect?
I have the opposite issue and hold on far too long to my pee but don't leak...
Maybe one for your Urologist? I hope you find the answer..
Take care,
K
