Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am a male of 51 years old. For many many years I have suffered from anxiety and depression. However I have never let it beat me and push through the best I can. For 3.5 years I have been suffering from tingling feet which has steadily got worse over the years. They now also feel very cold. I have been to doctors on numerous occasions, and had a blood test and sen a neurologist. The last time I saw a doctor was a few days ago. He examinined me and said the pulse in feet was strong so not circulation. I also had an excercise ecg. He did say that the symptoms could be long term use of citalopram. I am now on the minimum dose (2.5 mg) However, I am also a musician and the tingling has also become noticable in my lip. If I wake up in the night, all symptoms have gone completely? I am wondering how much of this is down to nerves/stress as coming up to xmas is a very stressfull time for me, especially fronting a band? Any help at this stage would be gratefully accepted. I am in England so waiting lists and treatment still pretty prehistoric? Thanks

Crusader, Do you suffer an SCI?

I'm thinking not.

I would have guessed some NeuroMuscular type disease. Yett you've already seen a Neurologist so I dont know. Maybe you should see another one? My grandpa always tells me to do things in 3's. Whether it be shopping around for the best price or seeking a professional opinion. One is never enough!

Or if the Citalopram IS the cause. You wont know if you dont break yourself of it. Or I guess, if the affects are permament you wouldnt be able to notice an improvement, just a cease in your conditions progression.

Maybe it could be something in your diet, or a lack of exercise.

Are you obese?

Hi Ches, Obese! no far from it. I make myself excecise 3 times a week for about an hour, and my worrying usually burns the rest off lol? I really am wondering how much is due to nerves and long term anxiety? as why should it dissapear when I sleep?
As usual as a man, I will wait and see what else progresses as I am sick and tired of going back to doc's. Also being an undertaker I have no faith in them, as I have heard many many stories of misdiagnosis etc.
Regards
G
