We are planning a trip to the Carribbean for this winter and I now need a wheelchair for distances and I am concerned about beach accessibility. I have been looking into some of the beach wheelchairs available espescially Colours Tremor model but like everything else the prices are outrageous. I know that they offer just their fatso wheels which they say will fit most wheelchairs but again they are quite expensive which got me to thinking. Could balloon type bicycle tires be run on wheelchairs? Is there any bike tire big enough that it might offer enough help to get through sand? Even if I had to buy a whole wheel and tire for my chair it would still be cheaper but will bike wheels fit and is it safe? I would like to hear from anyone else who might have tried anything like this so any advice good or bad will be appreciated. Jim
