I have a friend that recently became a quadraplegic. I have been exploring online to source the availibility and cost of purchasing such specialised equipment. Presently he is only able to use his eyes and I hope this technology will work. Sadly I have not been able to find out any information on the above and was hoping somebody could advise. I know that they will not have not explored this avenue already and was hoping that I could help fund the cost (or help raise the cost) to purchase something that could improve his communication ability. Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I hope somebody can help....

Thanks,
Alex (Scotland)

Have you looked at the Cogain site? Also look at Erica eye gaze, Integramouse, My Tobii, and Quick Glance. Integramouse is a mouth operated mouse, not eye gaze, but always worth a look. All expensive - try and find your local EAT or AAC centre as they often fund things.

also does you friend have head movement - could they access a switch - this could be another access method for a communication aid.

All the best

Lisa

Alex,

I have experience of putting assisted technology in from a company called Malvern Scientific. They are not the cheapest, but are very good. If you would like contact details and DVD's of their products, drop me a line.

Paul
