I read the article but found no address or phone number for contact. I'm up in Oxnard so I am not that far away.

Any contact information would be great.

I was at the Karting exhibition on Dec 2nd and it was AMAZING!! These vehicles are exactly what I had envisioned and more...Speed, handling, reliability, adaptability, comfort, therapeutic...These things are exactly what the Dr ordered (so to speak).
And the people running this program are just as great...Contact Joe Jr @ 805-680-6849 or better yet, go to www.gimpspeed.com.
Now if I could only afford to buy my own! LOL

What do you want to know? There are threads on this site that explain the setup if it's Ricky's bike you are inquiring about. By the way his is a CRF 250X.

Merry Christmas to all of you!!!

Ketsenburg,
If you go to the "Extreme Wheelchair Sports" section of this site and look under "Check out these adaptive sports pictures" topic there are several discussions about the set up.

Ricky is using a www.rekluse.com centrifugal clutch that allows him so stop in gear and keep the bike idling and prevents stalling while braking, It's a key part of the set up as is the hydralic rear brake lever mounted on the left handle bar, it is sold by Rekluse as well. If you mention us and that you are disabled they should set you up with a discount, something Ricky set up with them to help all you guys out.

The seat is a fiberglass go kart seat with all but 5" or so cut off the back, bolted to the stock motorcycle seat base, padded and 2 velcro lap belts added. The seat gives Ricky the confidence that he won't slide off the saddle.

We use a Klictronic electronic shifter to change gears with the up shift button mounted on the left handle bar and the down shift mounted on the right side, both are operated by his thumb. we did the left/right deal to keep him from getting confused while riding.

We had Brad Mienzer (who is a para also) fabricate the nurf bars and foot pans to keep his legs and feet protected.

If you pm me your email I can send you some pictures of the set up.

Take Care,
Rick Sr.
