I have hope that one day I will walk again. To some it may be a false hope, but I don't think that way. I'm not gonna let my injury slow me down anymore than nessesary, and I do as much as I can for myself. I stay very active, take long rides in my chair if I wanna see things clearly, otherwise I blaze around on my handcycle. Life my friend, is what you make of it. Know that there are those out there who have things worse off than you or I and are still movers and shakers. Some days are gonna suck, some will be good, you can make a big difference in your days with attitude alone. It human nature to take things for granted, count your blessings and give yourself a break. I wake every morning and thank god I still have eyes that see, lungs that can get enough air to breathe, and arms still strong enough to hug. Sometimes if it is a day that sucks, I have to remind myself of how good I still have certain things. If one day I wake up with the ability to walk again I will be very happy. If that day should not come, I still have what I'm grateful for and I will roll on!!! Great love to all...

Hey aaaa , you're 22, how can you feel that your life's passing you by? Not walking again is not THE END OF THE WORLD (dramatic voice), it is the beginning of your new reality!
Many of the elder mystics here on this site show just how much life there is to be grabbed along the way! Get yours now!
It's hard to be Good, when you're born to be Bad !

Some may, but I really doubt it. I don't dwell on it much at all. I figure it this way. If they come up with a "cure" it will first be tried on newly injured. Long time SCI will likely be out of luck. I figure at age 58 and over 20 years since my injury.....not a friggin' chance.
While Chris Reeves's organization has brought SCI to the forefront, I always thought he was obsessed with the whole "I will walk again" thing to the point of being creepy. Spending 12 hours a day in physical therapy is not my idea of a life.
