Pigs are not native,here.
They roam high up into the mountains and tear up native forests.
These guys know how to make a clean kill. The pig is stuck once, and dies. No more squeeling & suffering. That's how to do it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AQmq2W8HiM...feature=related
To cook them, we dig deep pits in the ground called "imu's" and build a pyramid stacked with alternating layers of mesquite hardwood & river rocks.
The wood is set on fire, and when the rocks are red-hot (...and they really do glow red), they are leveled in the bottom of the pit.
The hot rocks are topped with banana tree stumps, banana leaves, and ti leaves.
One rock is put into the cavity of the pig, then it is wrapped in chicken wire and placed on top of the covered rocks. The top of the pig is covered with more layers of banana leaves ti leaves, and finally a few sheets of wet burlap, then a wet tarp.
The whole thing is covered with dirt and allowed to sit for 6-10 hours.
You just hang out and drink beer while you wait for your food to cook.
When it is removed from the pit, the meat is so tender that it literally falls off the bone. That's why it is wrapped in chicken wire, first; so it won't fall apart when you try to take it out.

It's damned good-tasting stuff!
They do this at luau's for tourists, and charge them 10 times what it would cost at the farmer's market.
SUCKERS!

Daytona is one of the longest race tracks on the circuit, and drivers can build up to speeds as high as 180+ mph. These speeds would be much higher except for regulations that force drivers to install restrictor plates to reduce the speed of their vehicles.
Nascar requires restrictor plates at fast tracks like Daytona and Talladega (SHIT!!!!).
http://en.wikipedia....estrictor_plate
Damn them restrictions!
That's un-Umerrkin'.

At least Tony Stewart and his Japmobile didn't win....... Restrictor plates SUCK, the COT SUCKS, but the wing is cool if they would raise it up about a foot, so the drivers could see out the back........
California next week.... Maybe it'll be better.....

Sorry I've not been around much recently, I've had pneumonia, and am currently trying to persuade my hubby that I am ok to go to rugby this afternoon! So make sure you all have a drink at 3 for Gloucester this afternoon, hopefully I will be there too.
Oh and well done on the ODIs Nomis, I always dislike losing on D/L - mainly because it is so complicated.

Hi Jules,
I hope that you are feeling much better! Although I hope that you can go to the match, don't forcr it if you aren't right! and make sure you wrap up well!!! ( its the RN and mum in me!)
Cripes, I was just warned that I am head for Pneumonia... I was just saying in another thread..(- I always dislocate, but my ribs are out of alignment and I can't seem to relocate them, so breathing is badddd never mind moving, and I haven't wanted to be doing anything!..ok rant over!)
I hope that you manage to get there, but either way that you are over the worst!
Take care,

Hi Jules,
I take it from the neb comment that you have asthma too? Thats the worry I have about my ribs , it doesn't take a lot to get pneumonia when my lungs are fubar'd anyway.
My mum-in-law has just had a bad bout of 'chest infection' - I think it was more than that due to her hacking up her lungs!! Like you said, and also what the dr said and the duration and type of antibiotics she had..
The fact that you don't smoke is great news for your lungs and you! as I am sure you know smoking really can put a spanner in the works..
Make sure you have a scarf! my nanna swore by them, and drink honey and lemon (as long as you aren't allergic!) The antibiotics have a habit of loosening it all up and making it sound and feel grim. Hopefully you will be up for the match! Do make sure that you go back to the drs if your still rough towards the end of the course. You of course know all this - as a Scientist working in the area you do!! I should think...LOL, ignore me, habits die hard...
Just feel better soon!!
Me, I'm feeling sorry for myself, as its been a while since I had a bad rib displacement, just the rest of me that does it regularly..contemplating going to AED, but they are usually useless with eds AND paralysis..
Ok, I've rambled enough,
Take care.

Yes, it was a boring race.
I expected more.
BTW, Jim, Gordo's suspension didn't "fail".
It was sabotage!
...and who was it that won that race?
I forget!

Ryan Newman in his Penske Dodge won......
I can live with that...... At least it wasn't one of the Gib's Boys.....
Rain delayed my Nationwide race today.....
Now the race will probally be delayed tomorrow...... And I'll miss my NHRA Drag Racing....
Which will probally be on at the same time...
I need a Rum & Coke!

Sad part is JR. got wrecked by his own team mate, Casey Mears........
They should have traded him, and kept Kyle Bush....... Even though I hate the Rat Bastard.....
