Basically a Bloody Mary, but replace the vodka with beer.
Beer
A little tomato juice/V8
Dash of Werchestershire sauce or Maggi
Hot Sauce, like Tobasco
Splash of Lime

Hey, I'm here.
I'm just not logged in as often as I used to because I don;t have a lot of time.
Economic hardship is here. I ain't no news story anymore.
[Rant]
I KNEW the housing market bubble would have to burst sooner or later. I remember discussing it with a friend four or five YEARS ago.
Now, congress is busy trying to put a band aide over the great big bubble just so it won't burst all at one time. I say, "good fu*king luck," to those as*holes!
It all makes me wonder when people in Europe are are going to start using the US dollars for toilet paper.
Don't bother thinking that the elections will change anything. Both leading candidates are just two sides of the same coin; separate images stamped on a buffalo chip.
[/Rant]
Wish I was at a pub in Ireland, getting wasted and listening to something sounding like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnjP57cic70...feature=related
Unfortunately, the closest I could get to doing that is bitching online with a beer in my hand while watching youtube.
What a sad state of existence I have fallen into!

Someone forwarded this to me in email; it makes perfect sense to me.
------------------------------------------------------
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up.
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,0 00 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket. A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIGÂ - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can work.
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, The Family plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest

I just spent more than that on my tires.
The figure I have been thinking about is the700 billion divided by the same 200 million adults which comes out to $3500 per adult. Even higher if you use the number of actual tax payers.
And what exactly is the problem for you and me????? higher interest??? so what?,,,Lower house values,,, only matters if you are selling,,, lower stock prices,,,,,same as for houses,, only matters if you are selling and they will eventually go back up,,, just like they did after the dot com bubble burst.
At least for the last bubble they put some people in jail ( enron),,,, why not do that now to some of those assholes who juggled numbers in order to make loans to people who really couldn't afford them. My wife worked for Washington Mutual for a short time a few years ago, and came home with stories about loan officers havig her change numbers on applications she was entering, to make the borrowers collateral look better.
It happened to her everyday,,, and she was only one of thirty people entering data.,,,,,,No wonder they went under last week.

...
That is correct.
The math was wrong, but it's still an excelent idea.
You refer to the $700 bilion bail-out coporate package, I assume?
This too, fits nicely into the same scheme.
Too bad none of this will ever happen. Amid widespread public opposition to the bail-out plan, congress appears determined to approve it.
If congress is supposed to represent the people and fails to do so, then we are no longer a representative republic. That means that the United States of America no longer exists.
Something else has taken it's place.

You lucky dog!!!! At what venue are they playing? Last concert I saw in STL area was Eric Clapton at Riverport.
You'll have a blast, I know.
I think I've been to all the big concert halls. My first was when I was 14, saw the Ozark Mountain Daredevils at the Kiel, Moody Blues at the Checkerdome (I know you remember that name), Moody Blues at the Muny, Pink Floyd after they changed the name of the Checkerdome back to the Arena. I saw Shooting Star at Muddy Waters on the Landing. Roger Waters, David Gilmore and Neil Young at the Fox. Also at the Riverport I saw a trio of most original members of Guess Who, Grass Roots and Three Dog Night. That was actually a great concert, good handicap seats, not too far away from the beer stand.
I need to dig out all my concert stubs to see how many I've been to. I know I have at the very least been to 50 in the STL area. I bet you've been to many more. I got all my concert shirts in a preservation box now.
