Cool Kev-O, Bristol is a great track. I probably wont make it to the California 500 this year, but there's always next year...go NASCAR.

Hey Kev-O... I live 15 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway and I used to go to both races every year. It's hard to beat the experience of seeing a race at BMS, but I eventually grew tired of fighting all of the traffic and the large crowds. Maybe it's time for me to give it another shot.

The "Pub" thread is definitely the right one to be posting about BMS. 90% of the crowd will carry in a cooler full of their favorite beer and every one will carry out an empty cooler. At least the mangled mess of traffic gives people time to sober up a little before they start the drive home. Hopefully, designated drivers are abundant.

The expanded four-lane and sidewalk project should be completed before the spring race. It was supposed to be completed before last year's race, but as usual it's behind schedule. We don't get in a hurry for anything up here in the mountains. The expanded sidewalks should free up traffic somewhat.

Let me know how things go attending in a chair. There's some pretty good hills around depending which way you're coming in and where your seats are (I know, you're all ready in you're seat, but you know what I mean).

Have fun!

Concert was great, but I had to watch most of it on the large screens, as no one sat down during the whole show.....

I just finished watching the Rolex 24...... I wish NASCAR would change some stuff on the new cars...... It's ruined the racing.......

Jim,

I think it was tires also, not just the pit stops/crew. Jeff's tires seemed to go away at the end of the race a bit more than Matt's did. Gordon was pushing hard on the inside track near/on/over the inside line, you could see the tire smoke, not much on Kenseth's car.

It seems to me that the COT setup is so restrictive that they just cant get their setups close enough, consistent enough, for each driver/track to run as hard as the engines will let them or the drivers want to. The cars were pretty squirrely all race, Goodyear still needs to get their R&D together and make a bigger tire for the COT.

Give them all another five/ten years and maybe they will have the setups figured out...then a new car of course lol...

It was a good race tho...now to Las Vegas.

Jerry

Hi Guys and girls

Sorry I've not been around in the pub recently, but I have not been very well!! As you may remember last year you all hand a drink for me whenever Gloucester Rugby had a big game. Well you are going to have to start doing it again, we made it to the cup final yesterday - We will be playing cardiff Blues at HQ (Twickenham) in 3 weeks time. I couldn't make it to the game yesterday - still too ill and I've missed the last 3 home games which I am absolutely gutted about. The first game I missed was the worst I was ijn hospital, and got the nurses to open the window, because I could hear the cheers from Kingsholm, so knew we had won!!! We have got lots of important games in the league coming up, so I will definitely need you to all have a drink for Glos!! This weekend has been a weekend of miracles so far, firstly Button wins first GP of season in Brawn F1, Hamilton finishes 3rd despite v slow car and Glos reach final, when we all thought we were going to get stuffed!!! Funniest moment of the weekend though - Ryan Lamb (our fly half) who is a proper local boy with V strong accent was interviewed live on BBC after the game his accent was so strong anyone outside of Gloucestershire would have needed subtitles and he managed to use the F word whilst getting a bit too overexcited!!

Anybody else watch the GP?

Glad to be back in the pub will be calling again soon.

Jules
