So I'm just a girlfriend in the situation - but I've had these moments: Here's a few of the major ones, and I wanna hear what everyone else has to say

1. Never thought I'd be smoking marijuana in the basement with my mom's permission because it "alleviates my boyfriend's nerve pain" at age 17
2. Never thought I'd be following my boyfriend around watching him in class learning to balance for a minute.
3. Never thought I'd be allowed to stay with him alone in a room for 10 days in that rehab hospital at age 17.
4. But then again never thought I'd have to wonder for months whether or not my boyfriend and i could have sex at age 17. Or thought my boyfriend would have to take viagra at age 17.
5. last one: (inspiration for this post) Never thought I'd be up at 12:30am cleaning up my boyfriend's urine from the mattress as he goes home embarrassed...

on the plus side
I never knew I'd meet amazing people at Craig Rehab who'd change my life. I never knew how many kick-ass athletes there are outside of the ab world. I never knew that I'd know what i wanna do with my talent and passion for science - and now I want to find a cure. I never knew that my boyfriend and I could be in love at such a deep level until after the injury. I never knew any of that either. I'm not saying obviously that its a "good thing" I'm just saying that who knew right? who could've guessed it?

lets hear the list grow??!

Most of the above are normally associated to growing up, becoming mature and gaining a deeper understanding of the needs of others.

You have had to grow up very quickly and it seems you have done that very well.
