Thank you for the pictures. It will help me explain what I want, when I go to the sidecar builder.

Hiya
not really. It's been on the road for about 8 weeks and done 2500km in that time, but mostly to work and back. Christmas day I'll head to the gold coast which will be 120km or so then it will do a few k's around northern NSW over the holidays.

WOW, it looks absolutely fab! I have a soft spot for side cars though,
I checked out the article you linked to. Very interesting.
Have a great Christmas and New Year. Hope you get to give it a nice run! Do let us know how it performs as I would love to know,
Take care,
K

Hi KcatK
Bike went fine, twas very wet and windy so I didn't do as much exploring as I would have liked. Sitting in traffic jams in the poring rain with poor sods in their cars dry and bored staring at me made me feel very seperior, this was living!
Bike is perfect up to 80km/hr and great about town, it's short wheelbase and lack of power count against it above that and on the freeway, so this year we maight investigate bolting on more power or do a 2nd bike for long trips and keep this as the town bike.
Merry xmas / happy NY

Nice! Personally I prefer these 'stay in the chair' bikes.
Have tried others and I am just too lazy to be getting in and out of my chair each time I want to ride.

I would so love one of these.
They aren't for everyone though. Read the FAQ's before you get your hopes up!

QUESTION TO MOTOR: Is that trike an automatic? Do you need your feet at all or do they just rest on the pegs? Essentially what I need is something you can drive with your hands only, do you (or anyone) know of anything like that in a trike format?

Kliktronic solonoid actuator does it for you at the touch of a button
And my feet are positioned in stirips
Rear brake is operated from the handlebars
The more engine torque - the bigger the grin

Dave I am extremely interested in a bike w/sidecar. Could you give me some specs on your setup. It appears that you do not "drive" the bike from the sidecar. That is what I want, to transfer to the bike and maybe put my chair in the sidecar. I ride my fourwheeler all the time. It is a honda foreman w/ electric shift. Would love to get back on a bike. Thanks for the inspiration!

Tourkiest motor available - 1300cc Suzuki Hyabusa - 4 into 1 exhaust - k&n air filter - power comando setup and dynoed - leading link forks - car back tyre - this lowers bike by 70mm (helps ramp angle) - Headingham double sidecar with reinforced floor and rear ramp - air dam between sidecar and bike to keep the thing on the ground (increases corner speed by 20mph) - full power acceleration results in lift of at 94mph (max 130mph at nurberung race track)- klicktronic gear changer - transfer seat between sidecar and bike - at the time of building a double lever hydrolic unit was not available so I got another clutch unit and swapped it over to double up with the front hand brake allowing me to operate front and back brakes at the same time with adjusting the rear lever so that it came on fractionaly after the front - sidecar wheel disc braked - this results in straight line braking.
So I rolls my chair up the ramp, pulls the ramp up, lift push pull myself onto the drivers position via my transfer seat, start her up, warm her up, and enjoy. 0 to 60 before anyone else and full power up to 130 when sidecar drag holds me back. At that speed you don't want to go faster as the chair is rocking and bouncing about
Thus the nickname - Dangerous

HI Joao!!
Just a line to tell you that we enjoyed your country and its wonderful roads. We followed the River Doura from Porto to Chaves and this was very beautiful. We covered 2500 miles on our trip and will maybe come to ride the roads we missed. Ride Free

You look great and so does the combo, I saw one in France a year or so ago and the guy had a full size medical skeleton on the bike complete with goggles, scarf and flying hat. It stopped the traffic.
Ride free in the New Year.
