if i put an icecube on my leg, i can tell its cold (kind of)... i can put it RIGHT next to my junk, and still feel its cold, but if i move the ice just an inch over and make it touch my penis, i cant feel it.
how the hell does that work?

also, i cant feel hot on my legs. crazy. its been about 2 years now, so i think im at the point where nothing new is going to come back, right?

Being a chick, I woudn't know about the penis thing of course:) but I've burned my legs so many times with heating pads and cigs and don't feel CRAP. I'm talking 3rd degree burns and don't have any idea until I got in the bathtub...BAM, my leg was f*cked up!!!!!!!!! FROM A FREAKING HEATING PAD!

hahah the first thing i did when i got out of rehab was broil a steak. i was taking it out of the oven and i tipped the tray and all those lovely steak juices landed right on my leg, and i was wearing those thing pajama pants. "bummer" i thought. well when i went for a shower the next day you should have seen the disaster zone! if Leatherface was a burn victim, my leg would have looked just like him!

Dude ,Junkstik , I know exactly what you mean I can feel it right wear my scrotum baisicly conects with my upper leg. If you look at a chart of the spine it shows the areas lost for the break location and you'll see the groin is lost before some of the upper leg function . Sux for us huh?

Beware the heating pad . they feel so good ya fall asleap and wake up hours later with 3rd degree burns that take 7-8 months to heal if they ever do at all.

Now , I find to get an erection I have to be really turned on by the girl i'm with and a blue pill helps sometimes . It has been dificult to accept and adjust to this new life . I am 2 years post also.
got a light?

I've got weird sensations like that too..... I can feel a feather rubbed on my leg, yet I could stab it with a knife and not feel it........

P.S. I had some frigid pussy before....... Does that count?

Hey I tried the ice thing also as you described it. I feel know hot, cold or pain below the nipples but do feel touch. All the ice cube did was wet my bed and my wife thought I had an accident. The no sensation thing sux. I ride a Harley Davidson trike and when getting off the other day my leg slipped and when I heard a sizzle like a steak on a grill and then smelled something burning I noticed my leg on the tail pipe. For once I was happy I don't feel pain. This happened 11/23 and they are just about totally healed. As far as the penis I do reach orgasams but don't feel them till I already have a mess..LOL Worry about getting independant and the rest will follow.

Peace :lmao:

I have sensation in the 1/3 left of center, but not the middle or right. Really odd at times. The thing that really freaks me out on occasion is I can feel my left buttcheek, but not the right. Always feels like I'm sitting on half a seat. Every once in a while I get the feeling that I'm slowly falling off to the right...really messes with my head!

Yeah, burns really suck. I got a silver dollar sized 2nd degree blister on my knee from extended use of a freaking laptop. Pissed me off. Took forever to heal.

Have you ever looked at a Dermatone Chart? It helped me understand why part of my leg was fine while another part had no feeling. The chart shows how the area of your injury effects your sensory level. As near as I can tell from the chart, the area around the item in question is effected/controlled/whatever by L1. The groin is L2, Butt is S3-5, etc. So, the nerves from about your L1 and up have probably healed, or are healing, while the area lower than L1 still hasn't healed.

That depends on who you talk to. I've been told one year, 18 months, and two years. I've even had one doctor tell me two different things. Then they always follow it up with, "Everyone's different". So, you just have to wait and see.
