Silone74 Hi
myself and two others from the Malton area are ex pinders fodder. Was 4 but my best friend had a bad year from Xmas day to 1 week before Xmas '10 and suffered a stoke that ended a 40 yrs struggle for him. The other two guys live in nearby villages one broke his back in the early 70's, mine was in '76, The last is from the chest down (like me) about 3yrs ago, but I don't know them I was in Pinders with a chap from Cleckheaton George Rigsby sadly he only lasted about 4/5 yrs. Mixed Ward in those Days but never knew any, other than first names. Neal comes to mind from Bradford, parents had a bakery and we were both fans of Bradford group Smokie.
cheers. Dave.

I was in there for just short of 7 months and although the nurses where good and kept the spirits up the rest of it was poor i worked hard to get out as soon as possible.

I too was in Pinders under Dr Burt It was his staff that abruptly stopped my antiepileptic drugs. resulting in severe convulsion that broke my back and caused spinal cord damage

I was there in 2007 after my accident , the care and the staff were brilliant then. They continue to look after me and are always there whenever I need help or advice.......could not ask for better care !

As Siobhan says, I was in there from July 2001 to February 2002.

I was only 14 at the time, and the hospital was old and tired, but the nurses and staff were World class.

The new hospital looks ace though.
