Hi,

Just wondering if anybody here has gone for a cruise on the ship 'Pacific Sun' ? They list disabled access rooms and I was wondering if anyone here has sailed on her and if yes, how did they go amenities wise?

I have asked the travel people the question but they still haven't gotten back to me.

Hi Jeremy,
I have sailed on the Pacific Sun when it was in Sydney. Overall the boat is quite wheelchair friendly. The two dinning rooms are on the Atlantic deck and serviced by elevators. The Burgandy Room is the better of the two rooms. It is toward the bow of the ship, serviced by the main elevators and has a wide entrance foyer. The Bordeaux room at the stern has vitual no entrance area and people tend to crowd to get into it. It is serviced by the rear elevators which means a long passageway has to be negotiated.
All of the bar areas and entertainment is located on the Promenade Deck. Access here is via the main elevators and it is serviced by a wide public area running the full length of the right hand side of the ship giving very easy access to all of the bars. There are three sets of disabled toilets on that deck, one at the back of one of the bars.
The Lido deck contains the pool and lunch dining room. Access to the pool is easy as is the entrance to the buffet area down both sides of the ship. If the weather is bad and people are not eating outside however the buffet area can become rather crowed making passage difficult. Thee s a nice bar area at the very end of the ship on that deck.
Overall the public areas are well set and accessible. There is also seating areas in the main theatre at the front of the ship.
In terms of cabins there is only a limited choice. There are two outside cabins on the Riviera Deck R111 and R117 near the rear elevators, although my choice would be to use the forward main elevators. There are four outside cabins on the Upper Deck U119 and U121 are in the middle of the ship and U214 and U219 are right in the stern and will be subject to greater rock.
The main deck has four inside cabins M88 M89 M92 M93. These however are right behind the pursers office and main foyer which is always busy and generates a lot of noise. There are three cabins on Empress Deck E109 and E111 both outside and in the middle of the ship and E208 which is right at the back of the ship. With all of the cabins right at the back of the ship it is a long way up the corridor to the main set of elevators. There is also a verdandah Cabin V2 on the Verandah Deck easily serviced from the main elevators.

Hi Bill,

Thanks a million for the info, I booked our cruise yesterday! We ended up with U214 right at the stern of the ship. We can't wait, its going to be a greatttttt honeymoon!
