Hi there,

I'm thinking about trying acupuncture to help with my nerve pain. I take Lyrica for it, which really helps but when it hurts, it hurts like :drive:

I've heard acupunture is great for this but wondered if any of you have had any first hand experience of it? :yahoo:

Interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks! :toast:

I tried it and it made my left leg swell, and hurt bad. It felt great when I was on the table. Darn I thought it was going to help. The Dr. said he had never seen that before. At that time I didn't know it was SCI at T12. Try it you might like it...

I was coming on to ask this exact thing. I will be going for mine in about 3 weeks. I am very concerned because i don't want it to make it worse

I have just started it for shoulder pain from wheeling around all day and so far so good. My insurance won't pay for it. In Florida it cost me a few bucks to say the least!

Good Luck!

I tried it & I'm sorry to say; it didn't work for me...give it a go & see what happens; it's worth a try.

Ali I would be very interesting to see how you go with it, because as you know I have SB too and if it may work, I'd definitely give it a try!

My Son went to a Chinese Acupuncturist in Madison WI ... Ben Never really Had a lot of pain with his injury, BUT he indeed beleives that the pain he did have from the sciatica nerve was calmed down from the treatment...also the Dr told him that Acupuncture can stimulate nerve growth..Not sure if thats true...But we started the treatments 1 week after he had gotten out of the hosp ...he went 3 times a week for app 3 months (could not afford that many times ins doesn't cover acupuncture so we then cut it back to 2 times a week and then just 1 time every other week) i am not sure what helped him get walking again...BUT i don't think that the treatments can HURT...give it a try...he now goes every once in a while...says he can tell when he needs a treatment. Good Luck!

I tried it 25 years ago, for muscle spasams........

Didn't do anything for them....

My mom's tried everything - including Voodoo to quit smoking....
Nothing there either......
