Before I got my trike I tried one...to fast and to exspensive for me. Also didn't feel like a motorcycle.

I saw them at the Cycleworld International Motorcycle show. They are as much as a car. So you might as well just buy a convertable.

I saw one but was in pain as soon as I got on as the position was causing some "meccano" on bone collisions somewhere in my hip.

I got a Spyder about 3 months ago. It is totally awesome. Very esay to modify for a all hand control. This thing is super fun and it feels great to be back on a bike! love it.

Got any pics of the mods. What do you do when you get where you're going, do you carry a chair on the back somehow?

I checked one out yesterday. Sat on it and could even work the brake but sadly although I have the cash I also have other priorities, They offered me a double, pillion but as soon as got on the pillion seat I got the "meccano" problem too, metal on bone. A guy has bought the one I sat on and is having it converted to hand brake. The guy at the demo day was saying if you get the conversion, make sure you get a hydraulic and not a cable brake as a cable will snap whereas there will often be some warning with hydraulics and hydraulics tend to be more reliable. A guy in Germany makes the brake conversions using Brembo components which are pretty good name. First vehicle in over twenty years I could have sat on before driving. I think I will go for an older MX5 until some secondhand Can-ams come on the market in a few years. Things are really getting better for disabled people now those baby boomers are getting older.

whan I looked at one I recall they were using a twin 20mm piston and hydraulic system from Germany (I think it was Brembo which is pretty good kit, used in high end cars and racing) to modify them. Although it cost around $2000 for the mods, hydraulic is a lot more reliable and safer than cable and the mechanical advantage is a lot better. If you like I could get the details of the company who I spoke to. They may be able to get the parts.

What will it take, though, for a C-5 quadriplegic to actually operate this kind of vehicle?
The thing that attracted me, as I wheeled by in the mall in my power chair, was how it looked kind of like a dirt bike. I always used to ride right on the tank when I drove off-road, and even operating a street bike I found myself sitting way up. It's the right way to be balanced on a motorcycle, in my opinion.
I imagined a thing almost like a glove, which I would get into somehow which would support my weight from side to side, and hold me in an almost prone position on this bike.
As others have said, hydraulics would probably be necessary. I don't know if I could exert the force necessary to corner in this vehicle. How the heck would you find out, without making all these custom modifications? I'm still not even driving yet, but the bike looked somehow doable.
I hear all you paraplegics talking, appropriately, about riding something like this.
Could a quadriplegic ride this bike?
