I am trying to get help to someone who really needs it. Apparently he hasn't seen a neurologist since he left the hospital three years ago and he is a C5 Quad. The closest neurologist is about 2 hours away from him and he doesn't have anyone (which I think is ridiculous) to take him (long story, but he lives with three family members but only one drives).
Are there any networks, resources or country wide programs that I can get him connected with to get him help (either transportation, mobile care, or ?) I'm willing to pay out of pocket to get him what he needs, I just have not been able to locate any type of service.

Hi Peeps,
You really need to give a rough idea of where he is.
As a starting point, where did he go to rehab? find out and get him or perhaps you can contact them and ask for outreach/community based rehab programs.
Dependent upon where he is ( which country.I think USA?,) and which area, you can narrow down a search. Place the state/county into a search engine followed by the words "spinal cord injury rehabilitation" or "community Rehabilitation Sci" etc
ok, until you get further info on state etc, you could look into the following:
An List of USA rehab facilities can be found HERE
A List of US disability financial help can be found by clicking here
UK SIU (just in case I assumed wrong) can be found here on Apparelyzed by following the link: http://www.apparelyz...pinalunits.html
Paralysis.org Chis and Dana Reeve Foundation which has information of how to apply for financial assistance and has info on rehab etc..
National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke has a wealth of info including organisations which may be able to help (featured in the bar menu to the left on the linked page).
Also, I have read and replied to your other thread. Please do bear in mind, this guy is a grown man and you have your own issues with your kids, husband an life. I know this sounds harsh, but he has top take responsibility for himself..ya know?
Again, sorry to sound harsh but from what you have written it sounds like he is trying to use this to snare you and malnipulate you into living with him or at least having prolonged contact. I am sure he is a nice guy, and all, but just going off what you have written in the other thread,..
anyway, just my 2p worth...best of luck to you both/all...
I hope that this helps for now,
Take care,
K

Thank you for the replies on both subjects. He is in small city in Arkansas USA which is about 2 hours from Little Rock.
He was injured in TX and went through Rehab at Tier but then after his wife left him, he had to move to Arkansas with his mother, grandmother (who does not drive) and blind father.
I'll search the websites you listed. I had already contacted a few private companies but no one has helped me in that area. I greatly appreciate your continued knowledge.
Yes, I know... I have enough on my plate, but his care, health and well being are high up on my list. I really don't think he is trying to use me. I think he wants to be with me and of course that would be helpful in his life overall.
