Hi everyone. I'm looking for information on places to stay in Ireland (North or South) that are wheelchair accessible. My boyfriend and I have just returned from a weekend stay in a Donegal hotel and I have to say I was less than impressed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :lmao:

Hi..

I'm Irish..living in the Dublin suburbs...anywhere built from 2004 has to be wheelchair friendly..some places are 'friendlier' than others :H2kOther (26):

Where were you thinking of going?

Hope I can help

Karen

Thanks for that link Simon, I'll definitely have a look at their site.

Hi Karen, We love travelling all over Ireland so any recommendations would be great. We did stay in a wheelchair accessible room in the Donegal hotel but the shower had a little step down and an ordinary chair in it, which I was a bit concerned about for him when he was transferring. Somewhere in Dublin would be lovely for our next adventure! :mfrlol:

Hi again

sorry for the delay...work + social life has been crazy..

While I think of it ..there's a company that hire adapted cars:

Motability Ireland The Irish Mobility Centre Ashbourne Industrial Park Ashbourne Co Meath, t:00353 1-8359173 .

I've stayed in lots of hotels around Ireland and never had a real problem

Bit on the pricey side is Brooklodge, Macreddin, Aughrim, Co Wicklow..huge bathroom..front access showerchair provided..though too high to fit over the toilet!! organic restaurant + really lovely..

I think the hotel in Westport was called the Atlantic right on the Quays. It's right on the westcoast in Co Mayo

Lots of new Jury's hotels all around which are all fine as far as I know..

when u decide where to go let me know and I'll try to find to more info....

All the best

K

Just thinking..Rochestown Lodge hotel in Dun Laoghaire is good too from what I hear and the Aishling hotel in Dublin

Hello, :)

Do either of you have any experience with visiting Cork, by any chance?
