Amazingly Im pregnant again...Wonderful isnt it, but boy are we surpried!! :mfrlol: I only had the last one in May and for both my sons Ive had to have 'assistance' so we never dreamed it would happen spontaneosly. So you can guess we are totally amazed.

Now Ive pretty got the day to day activities down well. but on a serious note am I going to be able to manage the 2 of them on my own? Am I actually going to be able to get out the house for instance with a baby and a toddler of 18months? Does anyone have any experience of having 2 little ones? :yikes: The only consolation is that the eldest starts school in September so thats one not to worry about!

Any ideas gratefully recieved.
cheers

CONGRATULATIONS!!

I have two lil ones..well they are a bit bigger now, but they are 18.5 months apart and when my paralysis occurred my youngest ( just 4 years) was a baby. Yes it can be done. People forever telling me how fabulously well behaved my kiddies are..how near to my chair they stayed when little etc...

I used to use my lil ones reins to reign her to me when she was a bit bigger and I have known people use an extendable dog lead on bigger ones, though I din;t need it. The DPN ( disabled parents network) as you know is a wealth of information.

So is this the second baby post injury? your eldest was pre wasn't he? You will be fine,..tired but fine..

I have had several miscarriages and a tubal before my first baby and we needed assistance, then my second was actually a Ooops! although we did want another. Due to my thyroid ( autoimmune thyroiditis after my first) and my history of preterm labour (now know it is due to my multiple forms of EDS as I have a few), and the worsening dislocations and loss of sensation ( my story is complex) I had a stressful pregnancy but thankfully all was well..

Having to go to and fro to school will of course bring its own issues, but I see what you mean about at least having him there. The lil ones will get into a routine and kids adapt better than we do..It will be interesting! One thing to do is to not listen to the fear mongers or you will feel like screaming. My advise is to take things as they come..anyway, I will write more later, but have to go for a wee while (got another mess up to sort out! lol and then have to pick my lil one up from nursery)..So til then, CONGRATULATIONS>.

How far along are you, btw?

Take care,

K

Congrats Lucydog. I think you're amazing already to be raising two kids.

Congrats lucydog. I am sure you will manage well. What a surprise for you both. You will get very tired, but you do not need me to tell you. This must lift the depressed feeling you had awhile ago. Very exciting for you to have managed without assistances. I am sure K will have some more helpful advice for you, if you need it, but you have managed with the two you have now

Well, aren't we the fertile one? :D

Congratulations!! With a little ingenuity, a measure of child psychology and some creative delegation I know you'll manage just fine.

You're already doing it anyway...you'll just have to up your game now. Like the others have said, fatigue will likely be dogging your heels, so be sure and take care of yourself, cos there's one thing I know...If the Mama ain't happy....NObody's happy!

Again, congratulations!! B)

Congratulations, that is wonderful news. I've had 3 girls post-injury and my first 2 were only 16 months apart. When I was first left alone with them I was scared to death thinking "Oh my gosh, how in hell am I gonna manage this?" You know what though, I think I did an excellent job..LOL..My biggest saving grace was one of those baby snugglies that you strap on to your chest..I kept baby stapped on me when she needed to be with me and when we went out I used the toddler strap for my other one...I don't think my disability got in the way at all...I think you'll be fine, you'll find what works for you...Good luck.

Congratulations Lucydog...perhaps you could get a
housecleaner/nanny in for a bit whilst regaining yourself
after the birth?

My biggest saving grace was one of
those baby snugglies that you strap on to your chest.

I'd imagine you'll be set up with how YOU want things
to be, but if you havn't tried Momto3chicks suggestion
of a frontpack/baby snugglies,
I highly recommend them too.

Again, congratulations.

Oh Congratulations! I know it seems like a lot, but I am sure you can do it.

Maybe look back here, and on your blog to read what you were posting last time ..... it will show how much you can do now that you were worried about.

You oldest will be at a point to be of some help as well.

Best wishes!

Congrats Lucydog! What happy news!

Don't worry, you find ways to manage, believe it or not. There were thirteen months between my two girls, that was a surprise. Things just always seemed to work out.
