I'd love to find a light, height-aqdjustable table for my laptop/lunch. Something like a Table Mate but with legs wide enough (and no crossbar) for my electric chair legrests to fit under. Any suggestions? Thank you very much!

I had the same problem with eating and my laptop until I found a folding 4 legged table with adjustable heights on the legs. Sams club had them for 30 dollars. Table company name is lifetime.

Good Luck

Dining room and utility tables were always a challenge for me. I have to shop carefully for either. We have a nice solid oak dining room table with the legs at the corners. No center pedestals or trestle-table types.

For my computer and work table, I use two sturdy folding tables, sort of like the ones in school cafeterias. They have tubular steel legs that can be folded flat when not in use. These tables are both about 2 1/2 feet by 5 feet. I'm sitting in front of my PC right now using it. I'm tall, about 6' 1" and have long legs and I fit under it nice and close.

You can find these at most home store, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot, and also WalMart, etc. They're about $30-$45 each.

Hope this helps.

If you live in the UK, Remploy Furniture have a great height-adjustable table. I have one in my class (I'm doing an Art degree) and it's perfect. I am thinking of buying one for home.

When you get to the web page, download the 'classrooms' catalogue.

My son has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and spine problems I became so frustrated trying to find equipment I made my own one.
It is electric and accessible to all wheelchairs and standing frames. My son Anthony is very please with it. I am hoping to make this into a business in the near future. I don't know all the rules of your forum so I won't post and details or a website address until an admin confirms it is ok.

 I have perspex tray made for the arms of my etacchair but I find the simple knee mounted tray with padded back most acceptable. I do however have the 'Air Desk' which I use my 17" laptop, you can drive over the flat disk base and an extended perspex tray which would be good as it fully adjustable.

My son loves it and the table can carry 180 Kilos.

It is electric and adjusts via a remote control from 60cm up to 110cm.

a good art table will work if u want a full size table and not a kitchen table, i have 3 but i use them for art, i've actually thought about inventing something, be pretty easy with actuators..........got 2 different kinds of easles, plug it in, push a button and raise it up........but that table that raises in the pic looks pretty cool......

I just had a look on http://direct.asda.com (if you're in the UK) and they have different options in their 'Living Aids' section....unfortunately the best ones are criminally priced IMHO and no VAT relief.

I searched and searched on the internet for something that would suit me, then one day started putting plastic cutting boards on my lap to carry food and drink. They are small and always handy by the microwave.
Look! It's a snail! It's a sloth! Able to creep short distances before lunch!
