I know this is obvious but my back is absolutely killing me. Ove the past 5 days Ive lost movement and everytime I shift im shouting ARGH! I cant bend forwards or swivel my trunk. Its as if my back up to my shoulder blades has totally seized up. Im even having trouble pushing myself around. I spent the afternoon in bed today as its about the only relief I have. Could it be spasms? My trunk seems to be rigid. I can hardly do transfers or get in the car. Im having to rely on my husband for everything. Its so very painful and came on quite suddenly. I cant think Ive done anything energetic to cause this.
Any feedback would be appreciated as I dont really want to go to my GP if I dont have to.

thanks a lot.

Don;t mess around with this and go see your GP
LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN A PRETTY AND WELL PRESERVED BODY,
BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING----WOW----WHAT A RIDE!!!

I agree....DO NOT mess around with this. Something is definitely wrong. However until you can get in to see someone I have found that flexiral works very well to loosen things up a bit. Sometimes its the only thing that will let me sleep.

I get something similar whenever I have an infection. Usually uti but once it was my gall bladder.

Having it checked out sounds like good sense to me, too.

Hello,

I echo the advice from the others.

Also wanted to share my train of thought:..., My EDs is so severe that it causes documented spinal slippage (vertebral, one or 10 of which led after injury to paralysis) due to the faulty connective tissue, and whilst obviously, I am not suggesting this is the case, the hormones of pregnancy could be causing some tendon and muscle laxity in your pelvis and back causing similar pain and inhibited movement.

If you can bring yourself to do so, go to the drs, if not then at least ask for the midwife to send you to Obstetric PT. You will probably need to book in now to be seen by the last trimester! (seriously, before we knew what was going on with me, my pelvic symphysis pubis separation ( I actually did have) was deemed to be the culprit, I was referred to PT at 10 weeks and my appointment was a looonnggggg wait. If you ring and convey your situation and the fact you have a sci, they should be getting you in pronto. In the absence of injury etc, they will probably see you before a GP does, but they may well ask for an OB's opinion, too.

HTH

Take care,

K

So sorry to hear your hurting so much. It could be caused by your ligaments stretching in your uterus. I slipped and mine stretched. It felt like I was in labor. Have you heard of Salonpa pain patches. Over the counter an asperin patch for pain. I'm thinking that it might be better for the baby. I do agree with all our friends it sounds like it could be an infection too.Get some help, don't suffer. I'll be praying for you both

It sounds pretty darn unanimous! B) Off to the Dr's. you go. :icecream: I've had symptoms such as what you're describing..........it turned out my spine had shifted and was severely pinching several nerves and the muscles were pulling like how you're describing. It took traction in the hospital to fix it, but had I waited then they may have had to go in and surgically fix it.......and that'd keep a new mommy down for a lot longer than almost any other solution. :wink05: Hope you're feeling better very soon.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen my Dr who has sucked his teeth a lot and wants to do an MRi, I havent had one for a while, but as Im about 10 weeks pregnant they want to wait as long as possible. Ive learned that once you become pregnant, no one wants to do anything unless its life and death!!! So I have to wait until at least 16 weeks, longer if possible. Oh well we shall see. Meanwhile it has been a bit better over the last week.
