So this is my first "start new topic" post, hehe. To give you a little background, my boyfriend of two years is a T-5 complete para. We met through mutual friends and couldn't be happier. He is my world and vice versa. After I graduate from college in December we are taking the big step of moving in together...we are both extremely excited.

Ok, so moving on with the reason for this post...

We are leaving out Monday morning for Park City, Utah to go skiing. Brad went last year with a friend of ours (i wasn't able to join sadly because of school) and tried skiing for the first time. He had some luck, but it was hard of course!

So this year we are going together. I'll be able to learn from the instructors how to help him when or if he needs it. Especially with the chair lifts. And I couldn't be more thrilled! With him being so tall ( he is 6 ft. 8.) it's hard finding a ski to fit him, so we are thinking that this was his main problem last year.

Just wish us some luck...this is definitely something he wants to conquer *he's such a hard ass* and I want him to be able to figure out how to ski by himself so we'll no longer need the lessons and be able to ski freely!

You guys are definitely wonderful, I've so much enjoyed this forum so far! If anyone out there skis and has some advice...please let me know!

How did the ski trip go? I was teaching my boys to ski (downhill) the year before my injury. I know they'd like to go again and I was wondering about how I would get around on the slopes and on the flats/inclines. Let us know how the equipment was too!
Boat racing accident July 2006. Still hoping for some return!

It went awesome. He's starting to be fulling independent, like on the lifts, flat spots, etc. He's finally able to keep his balance while sitting still, he's a t-5 so it was weird at first for him. Park City, Utah was great. He said he liked it better than the NSCD at Winter Park, CO where he went last year. The equipment wasnt in the "best" of shape, but worked great, he was in a better ski than at Winter Park and the people there are awesome. And they had a instructor that was also skiing in the sit ski, so it was easier for him to learn being able to watch him. (and i think it made him work harder seeing how good Mike could ski...hehe)
