  • Spinal Injury Level / Relationship:C4-C5

Hello -

About 4 months ago my uncle suffered a C5-C6 spinal cord injury. The diagnosis was incomplete. The doctors originally told him he would have no or very little movement below his shoulders. He has been working hard in rehab and yesterday for the first time he was able to walk with a walker. His right side however is not progressing like his left. Someone has to help him move his right leg but he is able to support himself and move his left leg on his own. I am just looking to see if anyone out here has dealt with this themselves or know of someone who has. What rehab might be the best for him? Any certain machines or equipment? Also, what kind of recovery to expect. With more therapy is it a good possibility that he will be walking with crutches on his own? Maybe even walking on his own? If anyone has a success story please let me know as I am sure it would give him even MORE motivation. Please respond on here or email me at chad@amecommunity.com

Your response is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Chad
