:) Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here I recently got a folding cair so I can use my car hoist (a Braun Chair Topper...it's awesome) I used to have a rigid chair and iuse an under chair bag to keep all my stuff in (purse, catheters, keys etc) but unfortunately I can't use one with my folding chair because I have to take it off when I put my chair in the hoist. Taking it off is easy but I can't re-clip it to get it back on.

Sooo...I have nowhere handy to carry all my stuff that I need easy access to. I keep having to just stick stuff down the side or back of my chair but it's folding...so it all ends up falling through the gap!! :specool: It's really annoying and I keep losing stuff too! I can put tuff in a rucksack or a bag and stick it on the back of my chair but that means I have to keep reaching back and getting the bag off, which is really bad for my shouders (which are quite sore) and I don't want to always have to take a bag out with me.

What do you guys do? Has anyone got any advice or good places to buy a decent bag?

Thanks for your help! :)

Hello,

I use a rigid chair so use an under seat pouch like you mentioned. If I am needing extra room, I carry a small kids ruck sack on the back of my chair. However I avoid it for the reasons you stipulated and also be cause I can not push with the extra weight of even a few things.

What I did come across though is this:Wheelchair Black Box

They are available for folding or Rigid chairs ( a diff model for each apparently) and so perhaps it won't have to be taken off as it folds with the chair! They are available on a few sites I have seen but the one linked was a cheaper one..

here are the details:

I use the larger size Deluxe Down Under bag from Advantage Bag on my folding 2HP. However... I don't mount it in the traditional "underneath" position. I clip it to the back, similar to the way the larger "backpack" style bags are mounted.

I buy mine from www.advantagebag.com but you can save a few dollars buying from www.sportaid.com and others.

It comes with quick release clips, but I never use them. Mine stays attached all the time. It's small and narrow enough that it doesn't get in the way when the chair is folded. If you mount it low enough, it will be protected by the rear wheels when using a chair topper.

Good Luck...

Joe

Thanks for your help people!

I think I'll get one of the Blackbox ones as it specifically says that it's ok for folding chairs.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi Pink,
I was using a fanny pack, turned around facing front. Either strapped around my waist or strapped to the armrest of my chair. They seem to fall apart kinda quick and don't hold much though. So oddly enough just today, I ordered a small lumbar back pack made by Tactical Operations Products.
A bit bigger than a fannypack I'm hoping it'll hold more and stay in one piece. Maxpedition also makes something along those lines. check out www.osograndeknives.com or any other site that sells military / police / hard-use camping gear. Maybe you'll find some thing you can rig up to hold what you need. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome! and remember, IF IT ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, HAS TO BE DESTROYED OVERNIGHT, call the Marines! :bye:
Hope I've been of service,

Just a thought, Pink Ali...
How do you get things to stay in the Blackbox. The lid opens fully and it slopes down towards the opening so anything in there is going to fall out. If you've got one item that is ok but if you've got lots of items in there it looks to me as though you're going to have a messy job opening and closing the thing.

Has anyone actually tried one?

I had one years ago on a ridig chair, and it had velcro all the way around the left, right and top of the door.
