Hi guys,

in dire need of some sun so we're thinking of going to Cyprus in a couple of weeks for a week. Just wondered if anybody had been there and where exactly and is there anywhere semi-accessible to stay?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks
X

Hi, there are loads of accessible hotels, villa's & apartments in Cyprus mostly around Paphos which is a direct flight out of Manchester.

The Spinal Injury's Assoc magazine & website like lots of private rentals and from first hand knowledge many of the RIU hotels have disabled rooms: http://www.riu.com/

Take a look on www.accessibletravel.co.uk they list a large number and book direct if you are doing it yourself.

Hi
Have been to Cyprus now on two occassions and loved it. Have stayed at the Rui in Cypria Bay which is more than adequate with adapted rooms ( make sure they have shower chair available ). Hotel facilities are very good and you could be quite content with just staying around the hotel.
Second time I rented an apartment in Paya so that we could travel around the island a bit. Access is a problem given that pavements are high and areas can be hilly. Beach access generally is poor although the Polis Area appears good.
My wife found a lovely beach that we had to ourslves and she managed to park directly on waters edge so I could do my seal impression in getting into the water. Pople are lovely and food is excellent.
Have a good one
John
