Hi, All!! I've been spending HOURS researching, loking and reading about different types of chairs. Esp. the Ti lite, most of u agree that it's a good chair (light and looks good, at least). My OT will call the Ti lite rep and try to get him in here for a sitting evalu. asap. My question is, I've read (in prior posts) that a few of u who work in the industry said that medicare.aid WON'T pay for a ti lite. Still true? If so, what other chairs would u suggest that are SUPER light? Ugh, my head's been spinning w/possiabilitites of chairs, castors, folding/rigid..u know it well...and now this!!!

THANKS and looking forward to your replies!! :yikes: :H2kOther (26):
Take care and God bless... Em

Hi! My husband is dealing with the same thing... he has a quickie GT- (I think..) He is wanting a new one, since the one he has is from right when he was injured. He didn't know what to get, now he is doing so much and outside that the chair really doesn't work for him. He loves the TI lite- but we have the same problem with medicare. He has only been on medicare since January and it seems they don't pay for much. His OT is writing a letter to request a chair from medicare. I hope it works. You might talk to your OT and see if he/she can write a request to medicare... they tell us that it will work. But I'll believe it when I see it!

Take a look at the tilite Aero Z, its the same as the ZRA except the frame is aluminum instead of titanium. A friend of mine got an Aero Z through medical (medicaid) successfully.

Take a look at this link for Tilite comparison chart for all their chairs, this includes weight of each model with identical dimensions.

I have the TiLite ZRA titanium chair and really like it. 75% of the cost was paid by ADP (Assistive Device Program, Ontario Ministry of Health, Canada). I also have a Sunrise Quickie but the titanium version wasn't covered by ADP so I got an aluminum GTA which I use inside and actually like it better than my TiLite titanium chair.

I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

My OT suggests an adjusting b/c I will be able to "work" with it... A guy is trying to come here and bring me the quickie 2..Good God, NO!!! TOO heavy, UGLY...I'll have some problems pushing that kind of weight. My OT just wants me to try it..people have medicare and have had problems getting titanium...but I NEED it!!!
