Hi babybear,

I'm having the same problem. I've always been pretty well proprtioned, fat at various times, but equally fat all over.

I have lost a lot of weight this year. My legs have of course gotten smaller with muscle loss. My arms and shoulders are much smaller with the weight loss and building muscle with weights. I'm working with some suggestions on a "flatter belly" but using my seat cushion as a guage it sure doesn't seem to me like it's getting as much smaller proportionately to the rest of me.

I'm open for suggestions "on" this one so to speak.

There is no way to spot lose weight on your body. Doing sit ups does not make you lose weight from your belly no matter what the late night infomercials say. You make particular muscles bigger not fat less. You can only lose weight as an over all percentage and your body genetics will decide where that weight is going to go and lose from.

Your only choice to lose weight in a specific spot is surgery options like liposuction.

Of course if you lose a lot of weight your bodies only choice eventually will be to use the fat deposits in those areas left.

My wife was very happy a few years ago when she dropped 25 lbs and her breast went up a cup size some how. She wasn't the only one that was happy....

HEY! She should bottle that secret!!! You all would make a fortune!!!

In the meantime, there's really no help with our butts is there?

However, I ran into my doctor yesterday. I haven't had any occasion to see him for about 9 months, knock on wood, and in spite of my butt issue he was surprised at the wieght that I've lost since he's seen me. I think that he thought that I couldn't / wouldn't do what I said that I was doing with the Weight Watcher's food plan. He was quite pleased with me which made me quite pleased with myself if I do say so! I just thought that from my walking years that vigorous exercise was the only way that I could lose weight and since I worked in a factory for 25 years and basically sat on my butt there too, that was one of my excuses.

Little did I know that one day when I got out of that stinking factory that I was still going end up spending the rest of my on my a**!

If you're losing weight everywhere but your behind I'd suggest you count your blessings - as someone who's spending all their time sat on their butt having a well cushioned behind will do a lot to prevent pressure sores there. :-)

Oh babybear,

I was flipping channels on the TV the other night and came across some show, don't know the name of it, but it was about women who are "over weight" not obese by any means but who have issues, in other words normal everyday girls and ladies.

They took beautiful, tastefully naked, draped pictures of various women and projected the image on the side of a huge building in some big city and then asked passerbys what they thought of the woman in the picture.

Now I'm sure that not every man would agree but the men LOVED the curves. Obviously your boyfriend loves you just the way that you are soooo...LET HIM!

Yeah Babrbbear, you're just freaking out unnecessarily. But butts are hunky chunky humongously wonderful. Enjoy it yourself and let others enjoy it too.

Who are you comparing yourself to? Magazines? Even the people in those pictures don't look like the people in the pictures. Perfect lighting, makeup, air brush, choose 1 pic out of 1000 and put it up as the idea of beauty? Anyone will look 100X better in those conditions.

Some people just have it in their genetics. If you are not terribly overweight then you are fine. You can tone up an maintain but don't knock yourself for not being 5% body fat. Few people are but they don't get thrust in our faces on TV and pictures.

When you partner tells you they think you are sexy and are obviously showing it just believe them and don't be self conscious. It will eventually cause problems for both of you if it continues.

Just be thankful you have a butt for someone to rub. All I have is skin and bones.
