Hi
OK, I admit, I am an MS sufferer (4 yrs) but have a legion in T5 so am paraplegic!!
I need some help, in Feb, my standing aid (Argo Encore) has been taken away from me :) and I have been put in a sling hoist.
I am no longer standing, have lost my balance, don't get a good stretch in the mornings and am getting wider around the waist! I hate having to roll to put my clothes on... On top of it all, my arm muscles are getting mega big, not that they weren't big before but am trying to maintain some dignity by getting undressed with my carers in private! I am only 34 too.
I also now have 2 carers instead of one so am tied to times during the day for visits!

My encore was taken away cos the down button needed fixing and the arc kept breaking. This was because it is plastic plus the screws were not in the correct place! We were just on the verge of this being fixed by REMAP when a new carer couldn't use the emergency button and then all hell let loose!  I have since found out that I can't weight bear much either

Social sevices are going down the route of tracking hoist. That doesn't let me stand! And doesn't elivate the dressing problem.

What do other paraplegic use for hoisting?
Can any one advise of a good standing hoist?

Thanks for reading my moan!
Rachel
