hi, new to the forum - already found it very useful.
i am planning a trip to cape town next jan/feb with my girlfriend and some friends and as part of the trip we would like to rent a villa with pool around the cape town area, possibly up to an hour away.
does anyone know of accessible villas down there? provided the communal areas are flat and there is some way of showering it could suit. i have enjoyed holidays in europe renting villas but can't seem to find similar in s.a. generally renting somewhere for a week for 6 people tends to work out cheaper than a mediocre hotel and much more relaxing.
i have found various hotels/lodges that look well set up but as yet no villas to rent. any ideas?

Hi There!

Welcome to the forum...I have backpacked alone in my chair in Cape Town, but not stayed in the high end places.

Try contacting Noel de Villiers at Open Africa..he may be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck, and let us know how the trip went!

Check out www.disabledtravel.co.za

What is the extent of your disability?
What are you doing re. transport? (accessable public transport is non-existant in CT)

I live in Cape Town, so if you need ideas feel free to contact me.

thanks for those, i'll have a look.
i figured that transport might be an issue but thought we would hire a car and i'd transfer to passenger seat. puts others from party in the driving seat but could be a bonus for vineyard visits...
as far as disability goes, tetraplegic with no fine finger movement. need help getting up in the morning, manual w/c - with emotions for outside, inclines etc. ok with all eating/drinking etc etc. ok during daytime. need some help transfering but working on this - 6ft5 doesn't seem to help....any tall tetras got any tips?
