Episode 1: Premieres Wednesday, Oct. 12, 10 p.m. ET/PT

In this first episode, we meet the remarkable 11-member expedition team: Ade and Sophie are both in wheelchairs; Daryl has spina bifida; Jane, Lorraine, Glenn, Toby, Warren and Karl are all amputees; Amar is blind; and Charlie is deaf. We also meet experienced expedition leader, Ken Hames, who will guide the team across 220 miles of the world's toughest terrain.

With just 28 days to cross Nicaragua, the team struggles with the jungle topography — and with learning to work together. Their biggest challenge during the first five days: pushing specially designed wheelchairs across pitted and muddy paths. Each person has joined the expedition for individual reasons, but all share a common resolve: to prove there are no limitations to their courage and sense of pride. Can they make it? Can they learn to work together?

Team morale starts to fall after ex-soldier Warren finds a potentially cancerous lump in his arm. To make matters worse, the team has only traveled about 15 miles. They must push on if they want to complete their 220-mile journey in 28 days. Through suffering and frustration, the team members find the mental strength to make ground. Then, a new crisis emerges as ex-Superbike champ Glenn Kirk deals with a painful injury to his amputated leg.

The expedition reaches a crucial breaking point. The team needs to travel the next leg of the journey by horseback, a challenge for paraplegic Sophie and double amputee Jane. Team alliances and tensions grow — and another team member faces a critical choice.

:D John and I watched last weeks episode and like it but we got agitated with the deaf guy. he did nothing but complain about having to push one of the para's.
Everyone else is either and amputee, blind, in a wheelchair. He is perfectly able to ambulate and appears to be in good shape. I mean, gosh, if he cant hack it , he should go home.

Well, for some reason it's not listed in my area for today. I did a search via our satellite program, and it didn't list the program at all.

The episode that is listed here to show tonight is the same one I watched last week (episode II), so maybe the scheduling is just different for different parts of the country.
