According to the Spinal Injuries Association, the 16th May 2008 is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day.

There doesn't seem to be much publicity about it though, apart from Matt Hampsons launch of his website.

Simon.

Information is here on 2011 Spinal Injuries Awareness Day

For future dates around the world, please see our Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day webpage.

I don't know if it is only California USA or San Diego county.......but October is disabilities awareness month. I don't know if we've even got a SCI awareness day or not. :D

This might seem corny. but to me every time I answer a question about my disability, show up outside my home, or conquer a personal challenge, I call it a SCI Awareness Day. :dunno:

There are a lot of disabled people who could be show case the valuable contributions that have been made by people with disabilities. But personally, I believe our own actions in everyday life show more about our gifts and what we are capable of adding to life.

Just my thoughts

cheers :wink05:

Mike
