I need help finding a reading aid for my recently paralysed friend.

He loves reading and whenever he wishes to do so, it requires me to stand next to him and hold the article over his face. What i am looking for is a device that ideally has a sheet of see-through material to which the book etc can be placed on top of. This device would presumably be attached to a stand on floor level, or could be fastened to the bed frame.

Please could someone point me in the direction for finding a device like this or even let me know if such an application exists. Having equipment like this would be extremely beneficial for both of us, as it would give me the freedom to perform other tasks regarding personal care and support work.

It's been an extremely difficult process trying to restore the quality of life that existed before his accident. Equipment like what i'm looking for would greatly help this transition and any help you could provide would be very appreciated.

Thanks for your help,

Rich.

You could try a music stand, its what people use to hold there music when there playing an instrument, there on a floor stand, like below, although if your going to be using big books, you may want to get a sturdier one,

hope this helps
