When traveling abroard is it better to take medical supplies in your hand luggage?
Can suppositories be taken through in hand luggage , are they classed as liquids?

I never put anything in the hold when I go abroad. My chair stays with me and have a good sized rucksack, which has always been enough for everything including my med supplies. the longest I've been away is 3 lots of four weeks in Thailand, I use coloplast compact catheters which are tiny and I use the peristeen irrigation system which is a bit big! I carry a foley catheter and a couple of leg bags for just in case scenarios when I'm abroad. I put all my medical bits in a bag I made for my chair which is attached to the underneath canvass of my chair, you cant even see it. I take it off for xray, and put it straight back under my chair, where it stays. My chair comes on the plane with me and is safely stored in an overhead locker, with my rucksack and wheels. It usually takes up a whole locker ;) If its medical it is allowed to stay with you. Also remember if you do use the hold,you are allowed more kg's for medical supplies. Long haul out of the UK you are allowed 35kg extra. I have flown with BA, Virgin, Quantas, Easyjet, and Monarch, and I've never had a problem with what I do in the last ten yrs.
