Scar tissue has less nerves so I'd say it'll hurt less. Quit bein' a sissy an' just get'r done big guy. We've both seen lots of women with tat's. If they can do it.....................
I've been saving for some ink myself. Wanna sleave, bio-mechanical. Been researching just the right artist to do it. Should have enough money for it soon.
Think about what u want carefully bro. They're kinda permanent, ya know.

depending on how bad the scar is (keloided) it may just reject the ink. also gettin drunk thinns your blood which means more bleeding & more color loss because of that bleeding. getting high actually intensifies the pain too. sorry not to have good news for you but if you're near philadelphia my friend is excellent at tattooing and has inked me & several of my wheeled friends. he's inexpensive too :specool:

I have LOTS of scars and I have also entertained the idea about the tats. I do have a HUGE needle phobia! Funny, because I can give a shot and draw blood (on animals only), but when I see a needle approach, it gets ugly! My doctor's nurse makes me lay down to draw my blood because she says I turn an unusual shade of white!?! WTF? Anyway, I do have some minor keloiding on a couple of them, and I don't really recognize that the scarred areas are less sensitive. I will one day give it a shot.......when I get my courage up.

I was wondering this too. I've been wanting a tat on the back of my neck, and I've got a scar that runs the length -- from the base of my skull to just about where my back surgery scar begins. I didn't know how well the ink would do on the scar and if it'd hurt more/less or whatever.

I have a tattoo on a scar on the top of my arm (where I can feel) and it didn't hurt too much. The guy who did it warned me that the scar might reject the ink although mine is fine. He also said that you can't get detail done over a scar as it acts like blotting paper to the ink. Hope this helps.

I had heard that the ink can run through the scar as the layers aren't bonded as they should be. I wanted one of mine done as a peeled back piece of metal with a printed circuit board and LED lights underneath like the terminator but it was too close to the bone so they said they couldn't do it. I am considering a dart board on my butt cheek where I get all my injections.
