hi,

i'm getting a new car and am interested in peoples thoughts and experiences on the type of mechanical controls they use.
i've always used radial hand controls simply because they were easier to work with limited hand movement. however the downside is they tend to be bulkier and get in the way a bit more so would like to get away from them maybe.
are there any tetras out there that use push/pull controls and what type are they and what other adaptions do you use to enable you to drive?

thanks.

Hi I just got my Chrysler Town & Country modified with right arm push/pull ... my right arm/shoulder is paralysed ... but I can push and pull ... my left arm does the steering ... also I modified the brakes with power assist so I don't have to push too hard.

Hope this helps,
Dan

thanks dansum,

i'm presuming you have some sort of brachial plexus injury, which makes me think i may be ok in using similar controls.

i tried push/pull controls whilst still in rehab but found them hard to use. the problem being that pulling to accelerate, pulled my body into the steering wheel. maybe it was a positional problem, but i never perseveered and on my first car used radial controls.
