Does anyone have any suggestions for a rigid frame chair. He is an C5-6 functional quadriplegic, very active, drives, and plays sports. Transfers himself and looking for a small lightweight rigid frame chair for daily use. Any suggestions since Pro4max has went out of business. He has seen some of Tilites chairs and wondering if anyone may have one and what do you think of it. Does any one know of any chairs along these lines? Has had Quickie Action and Invacare chairs in the past.... He does not know what is out there with in the last 5 years. Any input will help as he is going to get his wheelchair consult in May. Thank you!!

Seeing that your in the DFW area, if he wants, we can meet up and he can check out my TiLite ZRA. I know of a great DME here that is owned and ran by a Para and he can normally get a hold of a few different chairs if that's what your BF wants so that he can look at em. I know he can normally get Ti, Quickie and Colours chairs in a short time frame. The guy is a good as it gets when it comes to getting a new custom chair sized and fitted since he has 30+ year of using one himself.

I have been using a Ti Lite TRC for the last 6 years and although it is coming towards the end of it's life I would say it probably has been value for money. Although it certainly hasn't been without it's difficulties. Lots of screws tend to go missing however I probably put mine through more than it has been built for. However at the moment I am looking at a Ti ZRC as my next chair.

VA fits him and gets him his chairs. Sometimes we wish that VA did not because there is so much red tape and sometimes wait... but thats the govt for us lol

Does he need to have an EZ-Lock bracket installed on his chair for driving? That kind of limits your chair selection because you need a bar underneath for the bracket. Hubby has a Tilite Evo chair found here - towards middle of page. If an EZ-lock is not a problem, might I suggest the TiLite TR Titanium found here at the top of the page. I ride around in that chair and like it very much. I used to have a Quickie Ti and I found it very "flimsy" I could feel all the bumps in the road and the chair flexed quite a bit when hitting a bump or even a pebble.

Hope this helps you a bit :mfrlol:

Well the offer is still out if he wants to meet up to check out my Ti. I have had quickie, E&J and Invacare in the past also and so far after a year in the Ti I would never go back to one of those again.

Oh, Karen!!! My rep is suggeasting a Quickie b/c Medicare will cover that b/4 a Tilite....Yikes!!!
With the Springey's/froglegs, and Titanium, will that help w/dampering? I have a lot of cervical spine issuses....being bounced around and/or "feeling" every crack in the sidewalk, is NOT going to be good for me! I know that no chiar is perfect, but I know that these things will help..? Thanks...Em :mfrlol:
Take care and God bless... Em
