My Trekinetic K-2 arrived today, have not had chance to really try it out yet, but impressed so far.

It will get a good workout on Saturday as I'm going to the Badminton Horse Trials. Will then be in a position to answer any questions about it.

Here it is in the back of my Land Rover after arriving home from the supplier.

ooohhhhh......... keep us informed on how you find it.

Info on transfers in and out, and how it copes with kerbs would be interesting, as well as just living with it. I take it it's not being used as your everyday chair?

Really interested to find out how you get on with this. I'd especially like to know if you can get it in and out of the car yourself or if it's necessary to keep it in the boot and use a second chair for the car transfers when you're on your own.

SMUDGE!!

keep us informed how it works for ya.
It looks like something for me living in Idaho.
Curbs I guess would be my biggest question.
How did you get it and is it as pricey as it looks?

Will be watching this thread with interest. Keen to know how you get on with the large wheels being in front, especially for transferring, getting under tables etc. Saw the website a while back but thought it a bit pricey to take a risk on. Please keep us updated!

Well I have had a chance to try out the chair for half hour tonight, and my initial thoughts are: -

I am on the well built side :mfrlol: and even my big backside fits into the seat and it is very comfortable. As standard, the chair comes with a nylon(?) seat set, incorporating side, back and seat panels. I ordered the optional (£95) 2” cushion (non pressure relief) which was specially manufactured for me without the ‘pommel’ that it is normally supplied with, (see http://www.trekineti...cingextras.html for pictures). Due to my size, I have not used the seat side panels, and this has not affected the comfort.

I have managed to have a quick try going up curbs, (the highest one where I live is only about 4”), and I was able to just roll straight up without any problems whatsoever, and the same for going down.

Like must chair users, I cannot stand push handles, however, I did order these, mostly to keep my wife happy, but I think this is one point the manufacturers should look at as to refine them to make them removable or foldable.

The chair collapses by sliding the footrest up under the chair (a very good design) and releasing the suspension unit from its top mount, allowing the rear frame to fold up. All that is supplied to keep the rear frame in this ‘folded’ position is a rubber band type affair, and I feel that this could/should be refined more.

I will post a more detailed review and photo’s once I have had a real chance to really try it out on Saturday at the Badminton Horse Trials :badmood: .

Well, we survived Badminton in one piece, and the chair lived up to my expectations.

Here is a picture taken by my wife, (I love taking pictures, but hate having mine taken :) )
