Just wondering if anyone here went through RIO in Portland?? If so, were you at the old building on Kearney or up at the main house?

Yes it was the little brick building on the corner of 19th & Kearney. Now it occupies the top floor of Good Sam up on NW 23rd. I was in RIO in 81. How did you find the experience back then? I had an excellent group of PT/OT and I feel very blessed for it. Are you in the area still?

I live in N. California now but my daughter still lives in Portland. The PT/OT folks were great we went to every concert that came to town they really helped to get me back in the real world. Do you still live in Portland?

Yes, I'm still in town. They really did a bang-up job with outings. All the concerts, baseball games, museums, movie theatres, laser light show at OMSI... it was a great experience. We used to roll over to the Lovejoy Tavern now and then as well (even though I was only 16 and didn't really drink LOL). :mfrlol: Gosh I just remembered, the first concert they took me to at the Memorial Coliseum was Grateful Dead ! Now THAT was an experience for a sixteen year old! I have many pics taken in the rec room, we had a lot of fun there even if it was a sad time for most.

When I was there it was Rocky and a couple others who were new. I don't know if you knew him, he was rather young. He passed away a couple years ago, sadly. He was an awesome guy! :lmao:
Roy Cullum was my PT and he was outstanding! They had to drag me out of there, I enjoyed my stay so much. :mfrlol:

LOL... well I was a little too young to enlist 'things' to help me forget! :specool: I was however official "roach clip holder' for the quad guys during my stay. I was the only para at the time. I learned a LOT about life that summer!! LOL
I know the name Marty Fuchs but don't remember the face.
