I just ordered a set of hand controls from Quick Connection. When I placed the order all I received is a sales receipt from PayPal, nothing from the company confirming my order or telling me how long shipment was, etc. So, I send them a note and here's their response:
"When you place an order it takes at least 2 days to get into this office depending on what day of the week it is and if any holidays fall in-between. Then it takes at least 2 days for us to process an order depending on what day of the week it is and if any holidays fall in-between. Then it takes at least 2 days for the warehouse to get the product out depending on what day of the week it is and if any holidays fall in-between. So, there goes a week to ten days. Now the product is in Canada Post hands and they will take 3 days to a week to get the product to USA customs. Now, once your government has it, it is totally out of our control.
Since 9-11 everything has slowed greatly due to tighter restrictions (this is likely not going to change) and they have been known to take week or even as much as 3 weeks (but rarely), we have no idea why. Once USA Customs is done with it USA Postal Services takes over and like the Canadian Postal Services they will take normally take 3 days to a week (sometimes much longer) and also depending on what day of the week it is and if any holidays fall in-between.
I don't want to alarm you but some of our customers have waited 8 weeks, on the other hand some have only waited 2 weeks. It's just the luck of the draw and nothing can be done to help expedite. It's the nature of cross country internet ordering. I'm sorry. I hope you get your product shortly."
Anyone have any idea if this is true, or did I just get ripped off?

I can't speak to your specific situation. I did order some generic meds from an online pharmacy. It did take a couple weeks to get it from India via Germany. The package appeared to have been opened by customs for inspection. It was let through because it wasn't anything that could be abused, only for personal use.
I guess I would give it a few weeks and see what happens. Is there any way to track it via the shipping carrier? Like a UPS or FedEx tracking number?
Is there any way for PayPal to hold off debiting your account until you receive the goods? Never used PayPal myself.
I order merchandise from online stores frequently and have for quite a while. I've only used a credit or debit card and never had a problem with an online merchant. They usually debit my account, send an Email saying so, then another Email when they ship the items. These have all been within the U.S.

Strange . . . I purchased some photographic equipment from Seattle USA (to Cape Town, South Africa) three months ago. It took 6 days from date of online order to being in my hands, and that included a weekend, and I chose the cheapest postage option ($12). I was impressed.
In my mind if a company is serious about doing business they will ensure quick delivery, and if they aren't they will look for excuses.

The hand controls arrived today. I can't say that I'm impressed. The "handle" is a piece of channel iron with a strip of foam on one side. The pedal attachments look pretty sturdy. I'm going to mount them tomorrow and try them in the driveway. I'll give a full review once I've had a chance to get out on the road.
The instructions have "NO RETURNS" in big letters across the top.
btw, Mark Anthony Mfg. is the distributor.
