I have heard a thousand times that 10 weeks is really soon. But can anyone give me any advice, any help, any experiences.

Girlfriend could feel legs initially after accident. Fractured t12/l1, but is listed as T8 complete. No motor, no sensory, no voluntary movement below bellybutton.

Anyone have any advice, help, experiences around 9, 10 weeks post-SCI injury.

Might start FES soon. Also, KAFOs, because she does have hip movement. Advice, experiences with these two at this early stage.

Anyone know of any clinical studies, research for those in the early stages of SCI

graci. best, Dan

Freedomdan,
The best advice I can give you is mostly common sense stuff. Be there for her, help her only when she asks for it, and get her therapy done so she's 100% self sufficient.

She should focus on building strength in her upper body the most, but. . . by all means have her practice walking too. It's a tough first 2 years, and doctors are always wrong about diagnosese, but don't count on that.

Good luck to you both.
