Hello everyone,

:) Looking for some advice again. Lately I've been noticing that my lower legs and feet have been really blue and cold, although the rest of me isn't. Occasionally they will warm up and be really warm but I'm getting a bit worried cos it looks like most of my toes are hardly getting any circulation to them.

Also, my toenails have got really yucky. Kinda flakey and brown. I know that you can to the dr and get surgery to just get them removed (my friend's had it done) I just wondered if anyone had any advice as to anything else I should do to help the situation?

Anyone? Over to you...

Thanks for any advice!

Possiable that you've develped Raynaud's? It's a bad circulation issue that involves the extremeties and they turn colors when cold. Nothing that can be dome about it, except to keep tham as warm as u can and wear gloves when u go in the freezer. I have it, I'd be happy to answer any questions u may have. Also, I've read that Raynaud's can cause toenail color discoration. I have that too. My podiatrist said it was fungal, but nothing to worry about.

HTH..
Take care and God bless... Em

Obviously you need to potter along to your GP and have a chat about it, but Raynauds is a possibility definatly. I have it too and have a lot of toe nail trouble, ( so attractive in the summer) Also get it in my hands a lot which is a bit of a nightmare actually. At the end of the day if it is Raynauds then there isnt a lot you can do but all the same get it checked.

A good few years ago I ended up having 3 toe nails removed (on my left foot) as I was having so many problems with them. The probalems were caused by the lack of feeling meaning I often did not relise my shoe was too small and then the nail started to grown in to the skin.

When I had them removed they treated the nail bed so they did not re-grow.

Looks a bit odd missing 3 nails but it stopped the problems but its not something to do if you can avoid it.

I visit old folks homes, and do their nails. They have a lot of problems with fungus. If it is fungus....You can soak them in Listerine mouth wash everynight or cover them with Vicks vapor rub and put socks on for the night. Everyones fingernails and toes are looking good. I hope it helps you too...
