Hi, Everyone!!!
I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind, informative replies. Also, I'm so greatful for this site and for all of you!

My OT has repeatedly called me stubborn b/c I REFUSE to give up on my manual titanium w/chair, even with all of my deterioating conditions...
So, I had a wheelchair clinic come here and I've been fitted. He's ordering a 15' wide by 17' for the dump (I believe. too low and I get more numb) He sat me in a 20lb chair with the "natural fit" handrims (LOVE!!!! them) and the froglegs. Made a HUGE difference in how the chair handled. Now, my chair will be even lighter, but I wanted your opinions...since you guys know your stuff!

I STILL want my Tilight, weather Medicare will cover any of it is still up in the air. He said Medicare doesn't like to cover Tiatinum (I know... :censored: ) but they WILL prob. cover a Quickie.(titanium, prehaps)
Anyone have any thoughts on which would be a good one for a newbie? Also, I want the Springey's for the lightness of them. Is there a BIG difference between the Tilite/Quickie? (he said no) He said that the Quickie Titainum will prob. be covered b/c it's not as much of a speciality chair. less expensive...of course! God forbid Medicare should do the right thing by us...but I digress... He's comming here from out of state and told me he'll bring me a Tilite to try out, but even getting me one to test is difficult!!

THANKS guys!!! You're the BEST!!!! :ranting: :soapbox:
Any suggestions/comments are welcomed and appreciated....

I know how hard it is to get them ot cover titanium, pretty much impossible but i have heard of it once before. However they cover the Tilite Aero Z all the time, It's aluminum and less then 2lbs heavier than the titanium ZrA. If i were to get one with medicare paying that is what I'd get. I don't know why it is hard for him to get his hands on a demo chair, he should be able to call the Tilite rep in the area and have him bring some for him to show you. I know the rep in my area would be able to show up with a demo chair or two of each model within a couple of days if he didn't already have other plans.

Never used froglegs so I can't comment on em, but my soft roll caster roll as smooth as can be. i go over 2 inch cracks and don't even notice it. I have my first set of spinergy's and they are great wheels.

Hmm maybe those reps are out of favor with TiLite or something, for the short 3 months I worked for a DME, our Tilite rep stopped by the office once every week or to to keep in touch and always had a couple of demo's with him just in case we needed one. Hell the owner and the VP of the business who are both para, both had free custom made TiLites. The rep figured that if the people running the business and meeting customers were in his chairs then the customers would be more interested in em. Hell I never even met the Quickie rep, don't think he ever stopped by, Colours rep stopped by a time or two.

Hi, Texas

Any suggestions? He said that he'd get me a tilite to try...but it's also been a week since he came here to "fit" me, and my OT and I haven't heard from him. Is that normal? I REALLY want to try out the Tilight, do I have to call him to remind him? thanks!!

It's your life, hell ya call him, this is something you need, it isn't shopping for a dining room table set. I'd call him and if he doesn't get back to you, complain about him to Tilite if he is their rep and supposed to be representing them. That's that worse part about dealing with most people that sell medical supplies, they don't use it and your just another customer to them because regardless of how many people in a chair they deal with, they still don't understand the importance of it to us.
