Hi,
My name is Dana and I am a PTA Student in Ohio. I am graduating in June and have a senior project that is due. I chose to do my senior project on my uncle who in 1989 had a car accident with a spinal cord injury to C4. Due to swelling, the injury moved up to C2. He spent many months at SLUH and then many more at RIC for his rehab. He graduated from RIC and went home with his wife to a remodelled 1st floor and using sip/puff for his wheelchair. He had 24 hour care as he was on a vent. My uncle died in 2002 from cancer and my aunt had wholeheartedly helped me with the first part of this project. I have wonderful videos and pictures. Since then she has had a stroke and cannot answer any interview questions which will put my project at a standstill. I thought that maybe I could find someone on this site that has a similar injury/involvement and would like to participate in this project and would agree to an interview (by email). If anyone is interested and would like to help me educate my class members by way of telling their story, please let me know.
Thanks,
Dana
