I had a C1 & c2 fracture and i am not paralyzed and it is been over 20 years ago, however since i made medical history 3 times i am trying to find out other symptoms that could be related to this type of injury. There are many questions and I do not know were to go.

Anyone can email me at harrym12341@YAHOO.COM Please put in C1&C2 fracture in the subject line. thanks

Hi all,

I'm an L1 complete (????), although more like incomplete due to my toes twitching periodically and continuous muscle flicker in my right hamstring. These are probably just spasm more than being under my control.

I have no sensory function below my hips and have no motor control in my legs whatsoever. Like most others I get the 'burning, tingling, shock' like feelings throughout my legs, but this only causes me a minor annoyance when think about it.
I also seem to have temperature control in my legs as most of the time my legs are warm to touch, as well as sweaty when they get too hot.

I like to think that I am very independent and can transfer to and from most things. Having the use of all of my postural/trunk muscle assists in this.
I get out and about in the car quite a bit and take the driving seat before the Mrs to her delight, which means she gets to have a cheeky glass of wine or two when we're out for meals.
We've just got back from a few day away Edinburgh (Scotland), which is an extremely hilly city and has lots of challenging cobbled streets.

My bladder empties itself from time to time so I have to wear a leg bag, but high pressures can build up so I self cath 3 times a day. As for my bowls, I can push and force the stool out most of the time with a little help from lubed finger. Sometimes I have to use a mini enema (Norgalax) to assist in the evacuation.

I have also returned back to work a year after my accident, although I'm not doing what I used to, I am working in a nice office environment in a fully accessible building.

If anyone has any questions I'll be pleased to try and answer them.

Cheers

Sean
