I plan to start swimming as a part of my workout now that summer has rolled around and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for swimming as a quad. I'm a c6/c7 with good mobility and I know how to swim although it has been a few years (like a bike, right? here's hoping). I did swim therapy when I was first hurt, but can't recall if flotation devices or anything like that was used. Getting in and out of the pool is no problem, it's just the actually swimming part that I'm looking for tips on. Thanks!

Hi there,
I take my wife swimming every Friday and she does very well. She is a t7t8 para and swims like a fish even with out her legs. You might want to use a flotation device seeing as you are a c6c7. Tips for the swimming part , I guess just keep your head above water lol. No seriously if you have good mobility then all you need to do is swim and enjoy !! The buoyancy of the water is great for working on stretching and sit ups in the water also doing laps. My wife swims 1/2 mi and she does other exercises she also does 80 sit ups in the water. I don't think you have any thing to worry about just go and enjoy.
