Hi
Iam the husband of a C4/C5. My wife fell down stairs an shattered a disk between C4/C5 this parelyzed her for a period of about a month. During this time she underwent surgery to remove the disk and have a bone graft and metal plate fitted and wore a halo. She was in hospital for nearly 3 months and with intense physio she learnt to walk and use her hands again. The accident was 5 years ago and now she is getting problems with back and neck pains and stiffness. She has attended a pain clinic where she had botox and accupuncture but it seems she will have to try exercises to reduce the pains as they both have not succeded. When i read some of the other entries here i realise i am quite lucky that my wife can get around an we haven't had to make major changes to our house.I think this site is very informative and helpful.
