Our local paper rang up last week and want to do a story on us, so my husband said yes. As you can tell they have trouble filling it on a weekly basis as nothing much happens in the way of news from one week to another. So we are being the 'inspirational story' of the week and talking about disabled parenting... I think.

Thing is I really dont like broadcasting my whole medical story to all and sundry. We live in a nice but small community and I do at least like to keep something to myself, Id prefer to be a bit vague about the whole thing as everyone I meet will otherwise feel that they have to come and make small talk about the article. When the journalist asks, how can I keep it low key? Im not overly keen on gory details if you know what I mean. The whole thing came about as my husband does a lot of work with Sure Start for local children and Im more of a bit player if you know what I mean.

I know Im being sensitive but pregnant and disabled..... my theres a story!!!

cheers

Enjoy your 15 mins of fame. You may help to give more understanding to what people have to cope with. Many people are interested not just plain nosy. Also the fact that you manage with 2 little ones and another on the way, makes for a good story, Perhaps it will show that you can live normal lifes
Hope I have been tactful with this comment, but you are to be admired.

LucyDog,
Congrats on your fame and when it comes to talking say what you wish and keep the rest to yourself. There is so much to talk about. How you came about being in your chair and how you take care of your little ones. I know you will do great as you always have. I myself could use some pointers since my first grandchild will be here this Sept. A little girl.
