First of all I would like to say, this website has provided me with more information than any doctor had provided so I was to thank all of you for that.
I am new to the site and am still trying to get things back in some sort of order. I am a 30 year old male that up until 6 months ago, life was pretty "normal". I was involved in a car accident that left me with major brusing of my internal organs. The impact of the crash caused nerve damage---- so now I am slowly regaining the use of my legs. I am still not able to walk but I'm getting there! I still have sensation and control of my bowels but I have lost the ability to urinate. The doctors suggested intermittent catheterization but due to a previous bladder operation (quite a few years ago) using the catheter over the course of the day caused more problems.
Since then I have been using an indwelling catheter which actually works fine but it does get annoying sometimes. I usually have my wife or myself remove it when I am taking a shower etc.... I have found that any kind of underwear seems to aggravate the whole tube etc... What experiences/tips can anyone share on these?
Thanks for all the info that is shared on this site, it has been so helpful!

Hey London,
I was advised by my doctor to switch from indwelling foley cath to ICT. I do it every 4 hours. In your case, as you mentioned this might not be possible due to a prior surgery. When i still had the foley, I would just use a micropore tape and tape the cathe near the thighs just to secure it into position. With regards to the underwear, tight fitting boxer briefs works for me.
