I wonder if any stylish lady would be able to give me advice on what to wear for a wedding? Seriously I have a new skirt, very bright and cheerful and need help on accessorizing. Just because Im going to be sitting doesnt mean I have to look frumpy. In particularly I need help on shoes, bags and stuff. If anyone would like to contact me off board Id appreciate it, I really want to look nice but havent got much confidence.
I can be contacted at eccles27@bluebottle.com
That way I can bore you to death with photos of what I plan to wear. Oh dont forget I will be 24 weeks pregnant as well!!

Cheers

I can help you with this.
What kind of a look are you going for?
If you're 6 mo. pregnant, then I would assume yer fairly young.
A brite and cheery dress for such a solumn occassion?
Let's tone it down a bit with some Red wing steel toed linemans boots. Calf length or shall we try to the knees? Add to that some puce fishnets and we got the legs covered.
Proper head gear, always essencial. Purple baseball cap, with either J A F O (just another f*@king observer) or DILLIGAF (google that).
A nice military web belt replete with bowie knife and the ansamble is complete.
Don't forget to do yer nails

Hmmmm.........Payless always and I mean ALWAYS has a great selection of womens shoes. The only downside if their stores aren't very accessible i.e small isles and tall shelves. However they ALWAYS have wonderful sales people to help you find whatever you need :D just asked they'll oblige. I would go with something light colored seeing as SUMMER :) is finally here. maybe open toed if your into being that flash (I know I am feet rock!!) I know that its tempting to fly out to Wal-mart and pick up a pair $6 black dress shoes but buyer beware those shoes will eat your heals off even if your not moving (STUPID SHOES!!!!) So.....NO WAL-MART! :) my son's screaming MOM MOM MOM so I have to run but I will be back with some more tips :)

..................

Okay, I'm back and I just realized that your in the UK and there are most likely no Payless shoe store lol....I feel really dumb lol.
Anywho... I would go with a small clutch bag to hold your whatnots like lip stick or gloss (wet lips are always very sexy) again I would go with some sexy open toes, you could also try picking a fun color from you skirt and finding a light airy top thats the same color. I'm not a big jewelry girl but for weddings Please and thank you! Try something fun and loud, but just remember that you don't want your ears to feel like you've hung your bag from them. A nice simple fun pair will due just fine. You should find out if silver or gold goes better with your skirt and work from there with your jewelry selection.

If your looking for something Fancy Smancy then try http://www.ccfashion.co.uk/icat/sale their having a pretty nice sale on some stuff! I would check out the jackets!

Per Una Busy floral skirt

ok guys, this is the skirt Im wearing if anyone cares to take a look. Im afraid i cant get it to embed on the page here.

So questions are; what colour top should I wear? I normally go for white but it would be nice to have a bit of colour.

Similarly shoes. I have wide feet that have a problem with toes curling under one foot, so I dont tend to wear hard formal shoes as such. Can anyone suggest a funky alternative? Should it be shoes or sandals?

Its a very formal wedding, probably the most formal thing Ive been to for years, so Im at a loss really.

thanks a lot ladies everywhere!

I would say a purple or white top. Shoe wise, how about ballerina type shoes, you can get them in all sorts of colours and they are really soft and still really pretty. I've worn some with evening dresses before, and they look really nice.

Hope this helps

Just had a quick look on next online, and they have some really nice purple ballerina shoes, here

I agree with Jules, a ballerina flat would go perfect with that skirt and because of the shape they go really well with wide or swollen feet. I will warn you that the soles are usually pretty thin though which bothers my feet for some reason. As for a shirt, you could go all out and be daring in red (that would probably be my move except I'm in a blue phase right now) or you could go with a simple white and instead choose to flash with your accessories. You could coordinate brightly colored jewelry, handbag, shoes, ect. to highlight the bright colors in the shirt but keep the actual shirt color demure so as not to blind people with colors, lol. My red blouses always get lots of compliments though! If you wear your hair up, I would go with the white blouse and accessories as updone hair will draw lots of attention to your face which is optimal for jewelry (and I always think it looks classy and fresh).

Hi Lucy

Personally I would go with the white top or blouse because you have plenty of colour and pattern in your skirt (it's lovely). What about picking a colour from your skirt and getting a long scarf to wear and just knotting it loosely at the front? The ballerina shoes sound good and there are lots of pretty glittery summer sandals in the shops at the moment. If it's a formal wedding are you wearing a hat? You could get one of those hair fascinators, they seem to do them in all sorts of colours. It used to be the done thing to match your bag and shoes but I don't think it really matters these days. If you go for a white top that's very summery you could get a lightweight throw to put around your shoulders in one of the colours from your skirt.

Have a wonderful time!!

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the tips. Ive decided to go for either very pale green, or very pale lilac, as purple is a bit dark. You know just a hint of colour rather than white.
Im going to go for red shoes and try the ballerina with the litle strap across. Dont think I will do a hat as Ive got very short red hair, thats usually as good as!
Finally as for a bag, I was thinking of a leather mini rucksac that can just go over the back of my chair. Never been a bag fan actually as Ive left to many all over the place in the past!!

thanks anyway and any more suggestions very welcome!
cheers
